The fort is home to many palaces, named Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Zenana Dude, Takht Vilas and Jhanki Mahal.

    JawantThada – Also known as the Taj Mahal of Marwar, JawantThada is a marvellous cenotaph-built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in memory of his beloved father Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, in the year 1899. JawantThada is one of the best examples of the brilliant craftsmanship of the Indian artists of that era. One can witness a beautiful mix of Indian and Mughal style of architecture when visited this beautiful place. JawantThada is also resting place for few other members of the royal families. Each and every wall of this beautiful structure is been designed by very precisely cut and polished marble sheets, and the beauty of this work can be seen as soon as the very first light ray hits the cenotaph, it’s like an incredible dream palace standing in front of one’s eye.

    Umaid Bhawan Palace – Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh of the Rathore Dynasty, Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the world’s biggest residence ever owned by a family. The foundation of this beautiful palace was laid down in the year 1929 and the construction was completed in the year 1943. In today’s date, the beautiful structure is divided into three categories a palace, a luxury hotel and a beautiful museum.

In the early era this piece of region was occupied by to rulers Bhim Singh &Takhat Singh. Which were further destroyed to make the Kailana Lake.

    Fun Fact – Kailana Lake is the key source of dinking water for the whole Jodhpur City and even for few of its neighbouring towns and villages.
